Two day trip to Aswan and Abu Simbel, from Marsa Alam
First day: Transfer with a guide, from the hotel to Aswan. The first stop will be Edfu, where we will visit the temple of the god Horus. The construction of the temple on the site of an older temple from the time of the New Kingdom began in 237 BC by Ptolemy III. and was completed around 60 BC, during the reign of Ptolemy XII. It is currently one of the best-preserved Egyptian church buildings from this period and is the second largest of the surviving temples in Egypt.
Then we continue to Aswan for lunch. After lunch, the program will include a visit to the temple of the goddess Isis and the goddess Hathour, which was moved due to the flooding of the Nile. Today the temple stands in a new location with a wonderful view.
At the end, we will stay in a 4* hotel, dinner, free program.
Second day: Morning departure to Abu Simbel with a visit to the temple of Ramses II. and the temple of his wife Queen Nefertari. Then transfer back to Aswan, where we will go to see the dam. It is the largest dam in Egypt, which is also called the last pyramid. Lunch is followed by a trip to Kom Ombo and a visit to the temple of the gods Sobekah and Houros. This temple is located right on the Nile and in the past served as a hospital, on the walls we can see the remains of prescriptions and medical devices.
